Despatch No 175 of 13th April last, respecting
an extension of leave of absence to Mr. Lena, I have the honour to state that,

reference to Despatch No 108 of 28th,
1849, I conclude that Mr. Lena's health
needs
a
much longer change than that he had obtained leave for here; and, as his constitution has altogether suffered to a
great extent during his ten years

residence in

China, I feel that I am only urging Bonham's sentiments when I respectfully
recommend his being removed to some
appointment
in a
climate more
congenial
